About the project

Chincoteague Island, located near the Maryland border on the Eastern Shore of Virginia, served as the idylic setting for Marguerite Henry’s Misty book series, originally published in 1947. Since then, the island has transformed into the perfect vacation spot for pony lovers, wildlife observers, and ice cream aficionados, especially during the last week of July when the annual Pony Swim takes place. The old bridge, the recently restored library and movie theater, and the iconic red and white striped Assateague lighthouse are amongst the elements making up this design.

This design is available as a print in my Etsy shop and at the Museum of Chincoteague Island gift shop.
